Performance and Features
Filtration Efficiency
The Levoit Core 300-P uses a 3-in-1 filtration system that includes a pre-filter, activated carbon filter, and a HEPA-grade main filter. According to the manufacturer, it captures 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.1 to 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, and pet dander. The filter is tested by an independent lab and is HEPA-grade when operating in Sleep Mode. This level of filtration is particularly effective for HEPA air purifiers targeting dust and allergens.
Coverage and CADR
The unit is AHAM VERIFIDE with a CADR of 143 CFM for smoke, 153 CFM for dust, and 167 CFM for pollen. Levoit states it can refresh a 222 ft² room 4.8 times per hour or a 1,073 ft² room once per hour. This makes it suitable for large bedrooms, living rooms, and open-plan spaces. The 56W high-torque motor delivers consistent airflow without excessive energy consumption.
Controls and Convenience
The Core 300-P offers manual fan speed control, a timer (2, 4, 6, or 8 hours), and a Sleep Mode that reduces noise to a near-silent 24 dB. The display can be turned off, and a filter change indicator reminds you when to replace the filter. Note that this model does not include auto mode or smart connectivity; those features are available on the Core 300S-P. The lack of auto mode may be a drawback for some users, but the manual controls are straightforward and reliable.
Maintenance and Running Costs
Levoit recommends replacing the filter every 6 to 8 months for optimal performance. Using official Levoit replacement filters ensures proper fit and filtration efficiency, as off-brand filters may be unreliable and could damage the unit. The filter change indicator simplifies maintenance. No pricing information is provided by the manufacturer, but replacement filters are widely available.
