Design and Build
The AddtoYourCart 3171921 is a three-layer filter assembly: a pre-filter catches larger debris, a HEPA filter traps fine particles, and an activated carbon filter absorbs odors. The materials include carbon fiber for the filter media, and the carbon filter uses a honeycomb structure packed with thousands of pellets to maximize surface area. At 3.4 pounds, the unit feels substantial, but the easy-to-grip design helps during replacement. The dimensions (11.81 inches square by 3 inches thick) match the original Bissell filters, ensuring a snug fit.
Performance and Features
HEPA Filtration
The HEPA filter in this kit is rated to capture 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. This includes common household pollutants like dust, pollen, and pet dander. While specific CADR or room coverage numbers are not provided by the manufacturer, the filter is designed to maintain the original performance specifications of Bissell Air320 and Air220 purifiers.
Activated Carbon Filter
The improved activated carbon filter uses a honeycomb structure filled with carbon pellets to target unwanted household odors from pets, cooking, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This layer works alongside the pre-filter and HEPA to reduce both particulate matter and gaseous pollutants, creating a cleaner indoor environment.
Easy Installation
Installation requires no tools. Simply remove the old filter from the Bissell purifier, insert the new three-piece kit, and close the cover. The product description emphasizes that the replacement process is straightforward and disposable, with a recommended replacement interval of every six months depending on usage.
